Only the second female champion since its it started in 2006 inception, Lydia Ward, aged 16 comes from Cross Gates. She is reputedly  the youngest ever winner.

She just managed to overcome, in the final game of the 3rd set, the dogged persistence of the runner up, Paul Dark.
